IELTS writing task 1
The first chart below shows how energy is used in an avarage Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The first chart illustrates how percentage of energy use in an average Australian household. The second chart illustrates the greenhouse gas emissions which is caused by this energy use.
It is clear that heating is the major source of Australian household energy use. However, the first rank of greenhouse gas emissions is obviously water heating which ranks second of energy use.
Although heating which covers 42% of energy use ranks first, it goes the third rank in greenhouse gas emissions. It is only 15%. On the other hand, water heating which ranks second of energy use covers 30%. This is a major source accounts 32% of greenhouse gas emission.
The relation between energy use and greenhouse gas emissions is quite complex. Because in case of heating, percentage of gas emissions drops one third of percentage of enegy use. However, in case of water heating, this ratio is almost one to one.
